Biogeographic distribution
The genus Favia is actually found in tropical and subtropical waters of the world. From the Caribbean down the west coast of the Atlantic Ocean and in the east coast of Africa. And from the east Indian Ocean all the way to the central pacific. But no species is found both in the indo-pacific region and in the Atlantic. The range for Favia speciosa, which is probably the targeted specie of this website, is from central Pacific to east coast of Africa, in the Red Sea and Persian Gulf and North to the southern part of Japan.
